The Danny Green Fund Charity Events
Paris 2 Canvey Island Cycling Event
A team of 28 friends will be cycling from the Arc de Triomphe in Paris to Canvey Island Football Club, over 4 days starting on 24th May 2018. The event is being self-funded by the riders which means that every penny raised in donations goes towards helping children to recover from disabilities as the result of a brain tumour.
To support our wonderful riders in this challenge, a donation can be made via https://wwwjustgiving.com/companyteams/paris2canvey
Alternatively if you or your company would like to get involved by sponsoring the kit for the riders please get in touch. This excellent opportunity will see your logo included on the team shirts along with promotional material and our social media pages creating publicity for yourselves by promoting positive exposure and heightened brand awareness for yourselves.
Good luck to everyone taking part in this challenging event and a big "Thank-You" to everyone who has made a donation to help The Danny Green Fund provide vital therapies and help change children's lives. By funding these therapies, we enable children and young people to become more independent and to achieve their dream of walking independently once again.
Kevin Moore's Cycling Challenges
Kevin Moore is aiming to complete 2 cycling challenges in 2018 in support of The Danny Green Fund. Both rides are longer than he has ever completed before.
1. On May 12th and 13th he completed the ‘Dulux London Revolution’, a 2 day 300km circuit around London with an overnight under canvas at Windsor racecourse. The 2 days were littered with challenging climbs totalling over 10,000 feet including a couple of killers over the Chilterns on Day 2. The weather threw everything it could at them over the two days, but it was still an amazing experience.Over May 12th and 13th he completed the ‘Dulux London Revolution’, a 2 day 300km circuit around London with an overnight under canvas at Windsor racecourse. 2. On Wednesday July 25th 2018 Kevin will start a ride from London to Paris. He aims to complete the 308 miles by Saturday 28th and reach Paris just ahead of the Tour de France which rolls into Paris on the 29th.
Kevin is a 50+ MAMIL, (Middle Aged Man in Lycra), this really will be a great challenge for him and he is glad to be raising money for TDGF as this inspires him to push on through training and on to the rides.
To support Kevin in this challenge, please make a 'Just Giving' donation.
The Danny Green Fund have published a book, written in Danny’s memory by his Dad. It documents Danny's brain tumour diagnosis and Posterior Fossa Syndrome and his journey through the disabilities which resulted from it.
It is an honest reflection of Danny’s diagnosis, treatment, daily struggles, fight and courage during his 10 months cancer journey. Sadly, Danny didn't get the happy ending that we all so desperately hoped for but Danny’s short life is the inspiration for us as a family helping others who are in a similar position.
The price of the book is £10 + £1.50 postage and packaging for UK addresses. All proceeds from the sale of this book will go to help fund further therapies for the children with Posterior Fossa Syndrome that we support.
Our grateful thanks to Design 4 Print for printing and donating the books.
Please remember to give us YOUR ADDRESS!
