Children who have been helped by The Danny Green Fund
These are some of the children the Danny Green Fund has been able to help over the last couple of years:
Annabel has taken part in physiotherapy at Benfleet Physiotherapy to help her balance and to help her to walk independently. The Danny Green Fund also provided Annabel with an iPad while she was receiving rehabilitation at Tadworth Rehabilitation Centre to help her hand-eye co-ordination and to help her keep in touch with her friends while away from home. The physio sessions have really made a difference to Annabel’s recovery.
The Danny Green Fund have funded soft tissue therapy and restorative exercise sessions for Charlie which helps to restore a more natural, functional gait by breaking down Charlie’s walking technique into smaller parts and addressing restrictions at every level starting at the foot, ankle, calf, knee, hip and pelvis to ensure a stable, steady transferring of weight.
Charlotte is taking part in physiotherapy session which are focusing on testing her balance and coordination. Charlotte particularly enjoys taking part in the boxing aspect of the sessions.
Demi had private horse riding sessions to aid her balance and core strength which she looked forward to on a weekly basis which helped her to reach her goal of walking independently. Demi also temporarily relocated to Essex to take part in specialised physiotherapy sessions provided by Benfleet Physiotherapy. In addition to this The Danny Green fund have also funded a weekend break away at Centre Parcs Winter Wonderland for Demi and her family, to enjoy special moments together
Emilie has previously taken part in physiotherapy sessions which have helped her to improve her core strength and mobility. Emilie is currently taking part in movement re-education sessions which will also help her to regain her balance and co ordination by reacting to external influences increasing her skills in accuracy, rhythm and timing.
The very determined Ethan who is making great progress with his physiotherapy which is being provided by Benfleet Physiotherapy. Ethan is now able to move himself from a chair to his wheelchair independently; this is something that he wasn't previously able to do. Ethan's Mum said that she has never seen Ethan smile as much as when he's doing physiotherapy!
Farah has been taking part in physiotherapy sessions funded by The Danny Green Fund which are based on having fun whilst also addressing her balance and core strength. Farah has recently taken a few steps unaided and is growing in confidence and continues to improve her strength and coordination which will enable her to walk unaided in the near future. Farah has also enjoyed a break at Centre Parcs courtesy of Danny’s charity, making special memories and enjoying family time away together after months of hospital appointments and treatments.
The Danny Green Fund have provided a garden play tower for Gideon to encourage his gross motor movements and coordination in a fun way, helping him to build his strength and to become more independent as intensive physiotherapy isn't an option for Gideon. The charity also arranged for Gideon and his family to enjoy a weekend Winter Wonderland break at Centre Parcs.
Joseph has been receiving hydrotherapy funded by The Danny Green Fund. With hydrotherapy he is now able to walk without his walking frame and he is working on core and leg strength, balance and co-ordination, right arm control and making his walking more natural looking.
Joseph’s dream is to play football again in the near future, a dream which we are sure he will achieve with his hard work and determination.
